This is one of the movies which is known for its pop culture and community that spread all over the world 'till this day. There are many factors can indeed happen why this movie is considered as one of the most influential, even George Lucas himself was inspired by Akira Kurosawa's various works such as Seven Samurai and The Hidden Fortress. Although Star Wars is considered as an outdated film ranging from the digital effects, awkward acting, to the visual effects, we have highly appreciated it at the time when watching it in theaters. Now, Star Wars is considered to be one of the most classic in terms of the story and the imaginary world created by George Lucas himself. As with the whole trilogy, Star Wars begins like a fairy tale through a narrative which the story is set in a galaxy far, far away. When seeing the synopsis, we know that the settings taken in this film are the most extensive universe and it seems that there will be many things that appear in it. It started with a charming opening scene from space with an amazingly interesting impression, Star Wars is the most memorable opening with its theme songs composed by John Williams. If you watch this trilogy from The Phantom Menace, there is absolutely a common thread which it fits between the plots and the characters in the universe. Even though like that, watching it from the original trilogy feels like there is a mystery that keeps away from the universe. For example, a reunion between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader which it still confusedly makes us wonder if there was a great conflict that happened before this began.George Lucas also chose a passive method by introducing all the characters in the film. There is one of the iconic villains ever Darth Vader with his memorable voice-over from James Earl Jones, Han Solo with his puns jokes and always has a cool style, the duo robotic of R2-D2 and C-3PO, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The rest of the film focuses on characters who are in a miniature scope and seem like misadventures heroes who try to save the princess. Seems familiar, right? From the appearance of these characters, there is a significant knowledge of the universe but it is still not enough to conclude everything. Furthermore, this is a space misadventure from an innocent young man who doesn't know anything about Jedi and Force immediately start his journey. There is a lot of memorable scenes which make us nostalgic for this film. One of them is Luke staring at the sunset with the score from John Williams. It feels like there's something deep and huge outside the world which is waiting out there, waiting for the appearance of the main heroes who are ready to travel around space. There is Han Solo and Greedo while talking and suddenly one of them shoots a laser, forgot who shot first. There is one mistake where one of the Stormtrooper accidentally bumped into a door at the Death Star where the actor was also severely injured. If you are looking for one on one fights between lightsaber, there is only one and it is tedious. But, I watch the prequel which it feels like lukewarm greetings with long-lost brothers who have never met for several years and once again wants to finish what they didn't finish in the past. Of course, with an iconic character from Darth Vader who is so phenomenal because of his intelligence, his design costume is slightly inspired by samurai culture and his fear when intimidates a person. In fact, R2-D2 and Chewbacca become one of the characters feels memorable in taking their respective roles. With the actors, all of them got a phenomenal performance of the characters they created, although at least they sometimes turn out to be awkward for the small parts. Star Wars becomes a film with a new theme surpassed by an era, as well as 2001: A Space Odyssey or etc. Sure, some of the backgrounds are still unclear about the characters, who is this character and who is that. However, Star Wars is a classic movie known for a marker, a marker between the protagonist and the antagonist on-screen.Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope is known as one of the classic sci-fi films with a technology which has been beaten in this modern era. However, Star Wars became a superior seed in a sci-fi, action, and adventure genre. The most memorable tagline of the time, the characters are known for their individual characteristics, the visual effects were so brilliant at the time, and also there are many memorable scenes possible in this film. Star Wars instills an idea about the world of imagination, about a complex fantasy in all its details and presented in a stunning way from all aspects.

Nearly half of the film is showcased on a desert planet. (The most boring ecosystem ever) I mean, who wants to see a desert for 45 straight minutes? And the social commentary goes on forever and does not even nudge the story along. Then after the desert, there is a rescue-the-princess cliche. If you like rescue the princess cliches, watch Shrek or play Super Mario Brothers. Not this awful movie. And there is barely any action in any of the movies except the 2003 anime, which is just barely enjoyable. Also, this movie is a blatant rip off of a Nazi propaganda film called "Triumph of the Will" so if you like this movie, then you support Nazis.

"A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."That was the line that started it all. A story about a hero's journey, like no other. It's writing started in January 1973, "eight hours a day, five days a week", George Lucas said by taking small notes, inventing odd names and assigning them possible characterization... After many drafts, he finally came to a satisfactory conclusion. Then, Lucas presented Star Wars to the United Artists, but they refused to budget the film, so he went to Universal Pictures, the studio that financed American Graffiti; however, it was rejected, as the film concept was "a little strange".How wrong were they, right? But suddenly, a light appeared: Alan Ladd Jr -head of 20th Century Fox-, a man that deeply trusted in Lucas genius. And that's how Star Wars became a reality. The filming of the movie was a harsh one. Full of mishaps, problems with practical effects, a bad first edit of the movie, but that did not stop George from fulfilling his marvelous Space Opera. Due to those setbacks, the Fox Study began to put pressure on Lucas to finish the movie. Finally, the movie was done. On the eve of Star Wars release, 20th Century Fox, George Lucas and his cast and crew braced themselves for the worse. One way or another, May 25, 1977 would be a day they would never forget...Star Wars became the biggest movie of it's time, the special effects were completely revolutionary, the story and the characters were highly original and compelling, the dialogues were beautifully written, the shots were beautiful, the battles in space dynamic, the lightsaber fight between two old friends left everybody with their mouth open. The original soundtrack composed by John Williams accompanied the movie like no other could've done. This was a movie that changed cinema forever. This proves the love and dedication George Lucas put on Star Wars. His ideas came from books such as "The hero with a thousand faces" by Joseph Campbell, The War of Vietnam inspired the battle between the Rebels and the Empire, the lifestyle of buddhist monks characterized the Jedi, real shots of warplanes made the space battles posible, Kendo was behind the duel, Akira Kurosawa was a huge influence on Lucas creative mind as well. Aside from his fascination with filmmaking, his interest on anthropology -obtained at the university- allowed the movie to be compelling and human, besides being located on a galaxy far, far away... These days, people dont't realize how marvelous and important this movie is to the art of cinema. Thanks, George. 10/10

Honestly, Truly, no other Star Wars movie compares to A New Hope. I can definitely call myself a Star Wars fan but slowly over the years I've lost touch with the passionate fan I once was. Why you may ask? Money hungry production companies? Beating an old dead horse? Something like that. I won't judge or speculate but in short.. The OG Star Wars trilogy, A NEW HOPE, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, and RETURN of the JEDI are the best. I do enjoy watching how technology and years improves the "special effects" and character/scene renderings. But through and through, the 1977 Legacy will ring through the infinite years. Side note: I'm working my way through auditions in the greater Los Angeles County. Be on the watch for STERLING SHARK. I enjoy golfing and educating those less fortunate. And letting my split personality disorder carry my character throughout my day. Much love Hollywood, and stay classy universe...and beyond????S.S.
