I have absolutely never seen anything like this movie before. You have to see this movie.

The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

First of all, I may be biased because I find all "coming of age" movies with a deep plot and dramatic storyline great like kids, thirteen, havoc etc. So the following review might stem from that but I will try my best to be as fair as possible and be as critical as I can be.For a movie that tackles an issue that's borderline taboo for this day and age while being portrayed by barely legal characters, it was done in a tasteful manner. It has this shock factor kids who aren't fully socially and sexually awaken yet and for the parents who think 'the kids are all right' (lol see what I did there? Moving on then.) and is safe in their own little bedrooms and their strict household rules. It makes you think and question what is right and what is wrong, who is sane and who is not. But at then end of it all you just don't care. Frighteningly enough, I think that's what friendship kinda is. You hope for the best and do your best but it all turns into a mess one way or another. It's the kind of movie that leaves you feeling sad and empty at the end yet relieved and fascinated at the same time. Some may come to love it, some may not. But one thing I am sure of is that you will never forget it. It will leave a mark somehow, somewhere. If not in your thoughts, then in your soul.

I stumbled upon this movie by accident. I find it really cleverly written. I assumed a woman wrote a script and the credits confirmed my thinking. Due to commercials I was not able to read credits. Completely off topic, but I enjoy reading the opening credits but in my country(Croatia), commercial televisions do not let us read them which I find horrible and rude to the creators of all movies. However, let me return to the movie. Amber Tamblyn is an excellent actress which is proved yet again in this little gem of psychological study on teenage behavior and love problems. It just proves that honesty pays in the long run even among teenagers. I am going to buy this movie. The script is well managed. One can really sense that the script writer loves all her characters and wants to understand them. I would strongly recommend this movie to all of my friends who like well-written scripts.

Sometimes it needs unknown people to produce such great teen movies.No more comedy like,no more fizz and fuzz and buzz it's a real deal .Normal Adolescent Behavior tells the story of 6 friends ,sharing everything together since childhood,now turned teens,a big happy family with twisted ideas about future,the truth be told many of us could find ourselves between those lines when we were young and heartbroken but nonetheless,love is to hurt and one should not hide himself behind friendship just for not feeling hurt.It's such a great modern story acted pretty good i might say and done by the book.My teen years were not like that even though i had close friends we didn't hang out in the same way..but i could understand the story so far and i rate it 9/10. Enjoyable for any age to watch ! Teens to learn,parent-like to understand and aging to remember !!

I'm surprised this movie has such a low rating, I just watched it last night and was surprised by how much I liked it. It's the story of a group of friends who are in a monogamous relationship with each other because they think it's better and more fulfilling than the alternative of teenage dating. Amber Tamblyn as Wendy meets the boy next door and begins to question the arrangement she shares with her 5 best friends. I thought she had great chemistry with the leading man Sean and that they were both surrounded by some great young actors including Kelli Garner as one of the group of best friends.I always like Amber Tamblyn because I think she chooses roles that go against normal stereotypes of teenage girls and portrays unique but still realistic characters.It was sexy without being offensive and didn't try to be too touching or emotional but there was depth to the story and layers of emotion. All in all I thought this movie was different and that it had a strange appeal to it that I still can't quite put my finger on but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
